On the flight day 6 (FD6), the 2nd Extravehicular Activity (EVA#2) started at 0:27 a.m. July 21, and it lasted for 6 hours 53 minutes.

During EVA#2 crew transferred the spare parts carried on the Integrated Cargo Vertical Light Deployable (ICC-VLD) to the External Stowage Platform 3 (EPS-3).

One of the EVA crew rode on the tip of the Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) operated by the crew inside the ISS, and transferred the 3 spare parts from ICC-VLD to ESP-3, holding one item at a time.

The relocation and installment of Kibo's Visual Equipment (VE) at the forward end of Kibo's Exposed Facility (EF) was initially scheduled; however, the task was not conducted due to time shortage.

As the result of the trouble shooting the Waste and Hygiene Compartment (WHC) located in the "Destiny" laboratory, it was believed that pre-treat flush water have flooded inside the equipment. The crew replaced the spare parts on orbit, and the WHC has been confirmed to work properly. It is now back in use.

The Thermal Protection System (TPS) of Space Shuttle Endeavour was cleared for reentry, after analysis of extensive imagery and data collected from the inspections so far.

Activities for FD7 include:

  • attaching the Kibo's ELM-ES to the Kibo's EF
  • preparing for EVA#3
