KOUNOTORI5 Initiates Communications with Tsukuba (HTV MCR) （August 19, 2015）
The KOUNOTORI5 has successfully established communications with the NASA's TDRS, and initiated communications with the HTV Mission Control Room (HTV MCR) at the Tsukuba Space Center (TKSC).
KOUNOTORI5 separates from the H-IIB Second Stage（August 19, 2015）
Separations of the Solid Rocket Booster (SRB-A), the Fairing, the H-IIB First Stage occurred just as planned. The H-IIB Second Stage burned out approximately 15 minutes after the launch, and KOUNOTORI5 was successfully separated from the H-IIB Second Stage. Then, the KOUNOTORI5 was inserted into the planned initial orbit.
KOUNOTORI5/H-IIB Lifts Off（August 19, 2015）
The H-IIB launch vehicle lifted off at 8:50 p.m., August 19. The H-IIB launch vehicle continues ascent toward orbit carrying KOUNOTORI5.

H-IIB/KOUNOTORI5 Launch Preparation Update（August 19, 2015）
At the Launch Pad 2 in the Tanegashima Space Center (TNSC), the H-IIB launch vehicle's final preparation continues toward the scheduled launch time of 8:50 ｐ.m., August 19. Launch countdown is scheduled to begin at 7:50 p.m., from one hour before launch.
