Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) grappled KOUNOTORI's Exposed Pallet (EP).

After completing the berthing operations, ISS Expedition 26 crew members began preparations for ingress to the KOUNOTORI's Pressurized Logistics Carrier (PLC). Meanwhile, other crew members manipulated the Space Station Remote Manipulator System (SSRMS) to grapple the KOUNOTORI's Exposed Pallet (EP), which is being installed in the Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC).

The SSRMS will remove the EP from the ULC on February 1. Then, the EP will be handed off to Kibo's robotic arm (JEM Remote Manipulator System: JEMRMS), and installed on Kibo's Exposed Facility (EF).

The ISS crew members will transfer JAXA's two science experiment racks, KOBAIRO Rack and Multi-purpose Small Payload Rack (MSPR), from the PLC to the ISS and install them in Kibo's Pressurized Module (PM) between February 1 and 2.

The next KOUNOTORI2 mission status update will be posted on February 1, 2011.
