On Flight Day 9 (FD9), the hatch of the HTV Pressurized Logistics Carrier (PLC) was opened at 3:23 a.m. September 19. The ISS crew entered the PLC at 3:25 a.m. September 19, and deployed an emergency procedure book, a Portable Breathing Apparatus (PBA), and a Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFE) in the PLC.

Then, the ISS crew will begin cargo transfer operations between the PLC and ISS from FD12 (September 21). Aboard the ISS, the following HTV-1 Mission-related activities are scheduled for next week:

FD14 (September 23): Removal of the HTV Exposed Pallet (EP) from the Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC) and temporary installation of the Exposed Pallet (EP) on Kibo's Exposed Facility (EF)
FD15 (September 24): Transfer of two external experiments (SMILES and HREP)
FD16 (September 25): Reinstallation of the Exposed Pallet (EP) into the Unpressurized Logistics Carrier (ULC)

These activities will involve the robotics operations with the station's robotic arm (SSRMS) and Kibo's robotic arm (JEMRMS).
