MFD Status Report

August 11, 20:00 CDT


Today, in the fifth day of STS-85, the third test run of the Manipulator Flight Demonstration (MFD) was successfully conducted from 5:01 CDT to 14:00 CDT. Astronaut Davis, with the support of Astronaut Robinson operated the robot arm for the arm control performance evaluation test, and then after the crew's meal time, they continued the ORU attachment/detachment test. On Flight Day(FD)7, an advanced technological experiment to remotely control the MFD robot arm from the ground will be conducted.
