Flight Day 3 (April 19 CDT)

Crew participating in various
experiments inside Spacelab
On 7:40 this morning, the crew of STS-90 woke up by the wake-up music from the Mission Control Center at NASA Johnson Space Center to begin the third day of this neuroscience mission. Colombia is functioning well. The crew will continue to work today until 11:19 this evening for a eight hour sleep period, and will wake up tommorrow morning at 7:19.

Status of Japan related experiments

Of the four Fish Packages (FP) stowed in the Vestubular Function Experiment Unit (VFEU), the air pump of FP No.3 was stopped due to a electric current rise. This morning, Pilot Scott Altman and Mission Specialist Kay Hire worked to resolve this problem by diverging air pump No.4 so that the air from this pump will flow into FP No. 3 and 4. The experiment data from the toadfish are being obtained intermittently.@
