ISS Expedition 38/39 Mission "A Journey to Infinity"

JAXA astronaut, Koichi Wakata will embark on his second long-duration stay on the International Space Station (ISS). He will fulfill an important role as the commander of the ISS. This will open up a new frontier for Japan's future development in manned space activity. Why was Japan able to reach the position to lead the ISS, even though it was falling behind in the initial phase of the ISS program? We will trace the journey of Japan's manned space development and astronaut Koichi Wakata.
