The ISS / Kibo Times will be issued quarterly to introduce Japan's activities on the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo", the International Space Station (ISS), and the activities of JAXA Astronauts.
JAXA astronaut, Noguchi Soichi, currently preparing and training for the ISS Expedition, will start training to board the first operational Crew Dragon under development by Space-X. The flight schedule will be announced when it is determined.

The UAE Space Agency has become an official member of the Kibo-ABC initiative on Wednesday, 8 January, after gaining full support of all Kibo-ABC members. Being part of Kibo-ABC initiative consolidates the Agency's role in building Emirati human capabilities in the space sector, and developing the skills of the youth in science and technology.
On September 22, 2019 the Japanese Society for Biological Sciences in Space (JSBSS) awarded a special prize to the Space Seeds for Asian Future program (SSAF 2010-2011, SSAF 2013) for its contribution toward promotion of understanding of space biology, and for wide-ranging capacity-building to researchers, engineers, teachers and elementary school students in the Asia Pacific region.
Tokyo, Japan - ANA HOLDINGS INC. (hereafter "ANAHD"), avatarin Inc. of the ANA Group (hereafter "avatarin"), and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (hereafter "JAXA") have announced a new project on the International Space Station(ISS) to release the world's first space avatar experience. This project is a direct output of the "AVATAR X" program which was launched by ANAHD and JAXA in September of 2018 under the JAXA Space Innovation through Partnership and Co-creation initiative ("J-SPARC").
At exactly 31 minutes and 00 seconds past 2 o'clock on the morning of May 21, 2020, the H-II Transfer Vehicle known as "KOUNOTORI9" (HTV9), the cargo transporter to the International Space Station (ISS), was launched aboard H-IIB Launch Vehicle No. 9 (H-IIB F9) from the JAXA Tanegashima Space Center.

Onboard astronaut Christopher J. Cassidy captured KOUNOTORI9 with the station's robotic arm (Space Station Remote Manipulator System: SSRMS) at 9:13 p.m., May 25. KOUNOTORI9 will be transferred and berthed to Harmony (Node 2).
