On September 22, 2019 the Japanese Society for Biological Sciences in Space (JSBSS) awarded a special prize to the Space Seeds for Asian Future program (SSAF 2010-2011, SSAF 2013) for its contribution toward promotion of understanding of space biology, and for wide-ranging capacity-building to researchers, engineers, teachers and elementary school students in the Asia Pacific region.
The JSBSS held its' 33rd annual meeting on September 22, 2019 in Chiba, Japan, where the SSAF team was honored. The special prize and certification were handed over to the SSAF Japanese team on behalf of SSAF members in the Asia-Pacific region. The certificates were then handed over to the other SSAF members who came to Nagoya, Japan for the APRSAF-26.
The JSBSS was established in 1987 to promote academic research on biological sciences and related areas and to facilitate communication among members and the international community. See JSBSS official web site for details.
