The ISS / Kibo Times will be issued quarterly to introduce Japan's activities on the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo", the International Space Station (ISS), and the activities of JAXA Astronauts.
The Kibo-ABC secretariat recently received an application to join the Kibo-ABC initiative from the New Zealand Space Agency (NZSA), part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) will host a programming competition involving free-flying robots※1 of JAXA and NASA in ISS/Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) known as "Kibo".
※1 An autonomous flying robot intended to support astronauts (by taking photos, etc.)
The International Space Station (ISS) Research and Development Conference 2019 was held on July 29 to August 1, 2019 in the United States.
JAXA and NASA have held this year's Joint JAXA-NASA workshop on utilization of the International Space Station (ISS) as their conference.
The reentry of the H-II Transfer Vehicle KOUNOTORI8 (HTV8) into Earth's atmosphere was confirmed.
On December 3, 2019, at the JAXA Tsukuba Space Center, the team from the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala handed over to JAXA their KiboCUBE CubeSat, Quetzal-1 developed by the team.
Mr. Hazzaa Ali Almansoori, the first astronaut from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), gave an educational lecture on the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) "Kibo"/ISS on September 30, 2019, using the internal camera drone (Int-Ball). The lecture was on the attitude control for spacecraft. The astronaut gave some demonstrations on "Kibo."
