宇宙連詩 みんなで紡ごう、宇宙に流れる生命のメッセージ

Space Poem Chain Vol.2 Commemoration Symposium

In an effort to create human ties transcending national borders, genres, and generations through the idea of one universe, during the last half year the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) compiled Vol. 2 of the Space Poem Chain, which is titled “There are stars.”Its 24 links consist in part of contributions from the general public and in part of contributions from poets of the Asia and Pacific region.

At the symposium to commemorate the completion of the Space Poem Chain, the complete Space Poem Chain will be read aloud against a background of stars projected by megastar, and the judge, the poet Mr. Makoto Ooka, will comment on each link. In addition, we are planning to have two brief lectures, one on “Words”, by Mr.Shuntaro Tanikawa, and one about “Space” by Mr. Yasunori Matogawa, as well as reports about Space Poem Chains made at schools and planetariums, and information about next year’s Space Poem Chain.

We hope that many people will attend and that all the participants will join us in thinking about the future of the Space Poem Chain. The number of seats is limited, so if you make a reservation in advance, it would be appreciated. Details follow.
