NASDA
trains ISS astronauts on Kibo. One training activity is Kibo system Advanced Training,
which follows Basic Training. Kibo Advanced Training #1, the first Advanced
Training on Kibo, was conducted from December 2001 to March 2002. Training was
provided on the Pressurized Module (PM) and Exposed Logistics Module-Pressurized
Section (ELM-PS) using the PM trainer, ELM-PS trainer and Kibo System Trainer
at Tsukuba Space Center (TKSC). NASDA will hold Kibo Advanced Training #
2 for ISS astronauts at the beginning of 2003. This Pilot Course is a rehearsal
for Advanced Training #2. In the Pilot Course, astronauts evaluate training
such as whether or not training facilities and materials are ready, and whether
or not training contents are appropriate. Moreover, this Pilot Course is training
for the instructors themselves. They are evaluated through these training activities
and then formally certified as instructors. |
