The ISS/Kibo Times will be issued quarterly to introduce Japan's activities on the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo", the International Space Station (ISS), and the activities of JAXA Astronauts.
Asian Try Zero-G 2018 was successfully performed onboard the ISS/Kibo on 13th February. On the ground, a lot of educational events, exhibitions and awarding ceremonies were conducted throughout Asian.
On July 28th, the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV7) "KOUNOTORI 7" was unveiled to media at JAXA's Tanegashima Space Center (TNSC).
In 2018, a total of seven research themes (of which two were those of Japanese researchers about utilization of Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) "Kibo") were granted this Award.
August 10, 2018, three CubeSats, designed by people from the Kingdom of Bhutan, the Philippines and Malaysia, were deployed from the JEM "Kibo."

Small satellites deployment from "Kibo"
ISS Research & Development (R&D) Conference 2018 was held on July 23 to 26, 2018 at San Francisco. JAXA is participating this conference every year.
Three CubeSats scheduled to fly on board the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) 7 "KOUNOTORI7" were handed over to JAXA from the satellite development teams.
At COSPAR 2018, the scientific assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) held on July 14 - 22 in the US, Dr. Taishi Yano, Assistant Professor of Faculty of Engineering at Yokohama National University, was awarded the Zeldovich Medal.
JAXA and NASA held a joint workshop on ISS utilization on July 23. Under the Japan-US Open Platform Partnership Program (JP-US OP3), this workshop has been held since 2016.
JAXA and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) have been cooperating under the KiboCUBE programme launched in 2015 to provide opportunities to deploy CubeSats from the JEM "Kibo" of the ISS.
At 2:52:27 a.m., September 23, 2018, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and JAXA launched the H-IIB Launch Vehicle No. 7 (H-IIB F7) which carries aboard the H-II Transfer Vehicle "KOUNOTORI7" (HTV7).
"KOUNOTORI7" (HTV7) was captured by the ISS robotic arm at 20:36 p.m. on September 27 (Japanese Standard Time, JST). Being captured and maneuvered by the robotic arm, the HTV7 was successfully berthed to the ISS at 3:08 a.m. on September 28 (JST).
Dr. Satoshi Matsumoto joined the Kibo-ABC regular monthly web conference on April 26th. He gave a special lecture on the "Double Layered Liquid Ball" experiment which was carried out as part of JAXA astronaut Norishge Kanai's Asian Try Zero-G 2018 in February 2018.
JAXA and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) is pleased to announce the opening of the fourth round ("Announcement of Opportunity") of KiboCUBE. KiboCUBE is a collaboration programme between JAXA and UNOOSA to offer developing countries the opportunity to deploy small satellites from the JEM "Kibo."
