This is NASDA's February 2003 primary activity report for Japanese ISS astronauts.

 

Columbia Accident Investigation Status briefing

Due to Space Shuttle Columbia accident on February 1, 2003, NASDA established the Accident Investigation Board to gather information of the accident and to react to it.

Since the accident, Columbia Accident Investigation Status briefing has been held periodically for Japanese media at NASDAi. Astronaut Hoshide has attended it with NASDA engineers to explain the status of the Accident Investigation Board and to answer questions from media.



STS-107 Biospecimen Sharing Program Ground Support

Astronaut Furukawa had been supporting Biospecimen Sharing Program in STS-107 mission at KSC since January. However, since the Columbia accident, he did the work in response to it.

 

The Japanese ISS astronauts' March activity report will be issued in April.
