: March 2009 STS-119 (15A) Launch - September 2009 STS-128 (17A) Return

The first Area PADLES dosimeter was launched to Pressurized Module(PM) part of the KIBO at the same time of PM attached to the ISS.

The continuous radiation dosimetry has been conducted by newly installation and and replacement every six months.The second Area PADLES dosimeter was carried on the STS-119 Space Shuttle Discovery.

NASA astronaut Edward Michael Fincke installed the Area PADLES #2 dosimeter in Kibo.

JAXA Astronaut Koichi Wakata introduced the activity of "the space radiation measurement by PADLES" during his long duration mission.
