The state of ground research and preparations for the space experiments

  1. Training of astronauts in the experiment (February 19, 2013)
  2. Explanation of the significance of the Space Pup experiment to be performed on Kibo and of the equipment and materials to be used was given to the 35S crew members, Astronaut Karen L. Nyberg, and Astronaut Wakata. Professor Wakayama explained the significance of this experiment and the equipment and materials to be used for half an hour.

  3. Increments 37 & 38 Science symposium (May 29, 2013)
  4. Transport of samples to Tanegashima for cold storage (July 31, 2013)
  5. Start the experiment (carried out by KOUNOTORI and stored in the MELFI)
  6. Finish the first experiment (return by Dragon cargo spacecraft; CRS-3)
  7. Finish the second experiment (return by Dragon cargo spacecraft; CRS-5) in 2014, a year after launching
  8. Finish the third experiment (return by Dragon cargo spacecraft; CRS-9) in 2015, two years after launching
