H-II Transfer Vehicle KOUNOTORI (HTV)

Preparation for the launch of HTV4 continues

Last Updated: July 12, 2013

Preparation for the launch of the H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) KOUNOTORI4 (HTV4) is under way in the Tanegashima Space Center (TNSC).

From June 24 to July 7, propellant (oxidizing agent and fuel) was filled in the HTV4's tank in the Second Spacecraft and Fairing Assembly Building (SFA2). Then, the tank pressure was confirmed that it was adjusted properly.

From July 13-18, the HTV4 will be encapsulated in the payload fairing (a cover to protect the HTV) before mating with the H-IIB rocket #4.
